X Men - First Class

I never read the comics so Im not THE person to talk to about x men. I like the movies for their sci fi environment and coolness.
In this one I liked the begining approach. The starting of something that you already know is gonna be big is appealing and it intrigues more somehow.
The story: Charles Xavier a young proffesor, starts to form a sanctuary and a school for "ordinary" people with special abilities. With the help of his new best friend Erik (Magneto), he launches a battle against a powerfull mutant who tries to destroy the world.
Although none of the original cast stared in the movie it has lost none of its potency. Maybe people like it even more inspite of that. It already has a rating of 8.0 on the web.
My rating 4.6/5

The Lincoln Lawyer

Matthew McConaughey plays a sleazy defense attorney Mick Haller. He never loses and never feels gulty about a case until a client involves him in a murder. An excellent crime-drama in which we get the best McConaughey has to offer. I never liked him as an actor and I always casted him aside because of his stupid roles in chick flicks, but I remembered the other day that he played a leading role in U571, a war movie from 2000 and he was great.
The Lincoln Lawyer puts him back on the first line of good career picks.
Other stars in the movie include Marisa Tomei (George Costanzas favourite) and Ryan Phillippe who did good as a psycho killer. I would recomend Lincoln Lawyer to anyone who like to get involved in the story.

Faster

Another kick ass The Rock movie with... The Rock!
A guy (Dwayne Johnson) gets out of jail and decides to take his revenge to all the people who were involved in his brothers killing. Its a rampage and a bloodbath. A pussy hitman gets in the crossfire with Dwayne to spicen up the things a little bit but he s no match for an angry big vengekiller. A detective (Billy Bob Thornton) gets to investigate whats left behind Dwayne but also with a twist. I like this tipe of no compromise, kill all, blow stuff up badass movies and Dwayne delivers just that.
If he had just blown away the "I found Jesus" black priest. It would be so much cooler!!!
I give it 4.0/5

Source Code

A new hit movie about a secret US military project involving time travel, multiple universes, changing destinies and all bunch of other stuff all in one.
Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) a soldier stationed in Afganistan wakes up in a train realizing he asumed the identity of someone called Sean. His appearance has also changed and a girl that talks to him, Christina (Michelle Monaghan) also refers to him as Sean. In 8 minutes the train explodes and Colter finds himself in a strange pod talking through an audio link with some woman called Goodwin. She explains through a series of tries that his mission is to return to the train over and over (through his consciousness) and to find the bomb and the bomber.
The movie is thrilling and exciting. It has a few weaknesses but nothing for an ordinary viewer to be concerned about. My biggest fear was with Jake and his weak acting. I didnt want another Prince of Persia crap but he did ok and believable.
Just because of sci-fi stuff I give it 4.0/5

The Leap Year

A movie my girlfriend made me watch.
The lead actress (Amy Adams) goes to Irelad to propose to her boyfriend. On the way she has a lot of obstacles but a local guy who owns a b&b (and is a perfect gentelmen) helps her to find her way in a foreign land. When she returns to Usa with her fiancee she realizes that the misterious Irish bloke (Declan) stole her heart. She returns to Ireland and proposes to him and they live hapilly ever after. Juck! :)
The Irish scenery is stunning and the rural countryside is worth the trip on an off the movie screen.
Acording to my girlfriend the movie is 5/5!

Scrubs

Scrubs is a Tv show thats sets the mood in a well known american tv environment – a hospital.
We all remember the E.R. and Chicago Hope as iconic tv shows with the hospital theme in which tv characters develop their lives and we follow their destinies. In newer times tv producers try to find new approaches in making „hospital tv shows“. Now we have Gray s anatomy and Dr. House with somewhat different approach which dazzles the eye and wakes the viewers imagination.
Scrubs on the other hand has laughter, laughter, laughter set in a hospital environment and it works like a charm. Every single character is uniqe and different, but the one thing in common is that they are all funny. Where to begin describing them? Nowhere. You have to get to know them yourself, and believe me you wont regret it. Enjoy!

Alien vs Predator 2

First of all the movie is terrible. Who the hell allows the Sci - fi character icons such as the Alien and Predator to be used in such a disgraceful manner. I mean come on people! I must admit that the idea in the first AvP movie about Predators and Aliens being in an epic war against each other is tempting and ok, but this sequel is just bad, bad, bad! The plot: A Predator crashes with a spaceship (of course in the U.S.) and dies upon crashing, while the Aliens that were infesting his ship spread to a nearby town and kill, and kill, and kill endlessly. One other Predator arrives to Earth and engages in battle against the Aliens and kills humans that get in to his way too. At the end the U.S. government destroys the town killing everyone but a group of people who manage to get away. Stupidly predictable and boring. The biggest setback is that its so dark that half the time you don´t know who is fighting who. They went overboard with the killings too. Just grose and poor acting as well. Worst movie I´ve seen for years.
I love Predator with Schwarzi and Predator 2 with Danny Glover, and the Alien sequels with Sigourney so if You love them too DON´T WATCH this movie.

24

If a guy walks up to you and says "My name is Jack Bauer and I work for C.T.U. Los Angeles", you're probably in big trouble. 24 is a real time action television show about a Counter terrorist unit from Los Angeles which is faced with the unstopped threat to national security from many terrorists who try to hurt the U.S. or it's citizens. Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is the best agent from C.T.U. and he usually leads the battle against terrorists with the help of his co-workers. Jack is an unusual character who's methods of operation are very often questionable but by God he'll get the job done. Each episode is 45 minutes long and represents one hour in the day of battle against the threat. One day - one season of the show with 24 episodes.
A big bonus of the show is that 24 is constantly surprising viewers in unexpected moments, and you never know what to expect on the show. Anything can and does happen. 24 will make you feel every emotion under the sun but nevertheless it is gripping, thrilling storytelling of the highest calibre
Personally I love the show. I think it's the most innovative television show in the last 30 years and everyone who misses it is at a great loss.

"D'oh"

The Simpsons are without a doubt the best animated tv show that ever aired on television. A whole new approach to animation was invented just for this cartoon.
A new approach for the content of a cartoon was also initiated because let's face it - The Simpson family is one of a kind in the tv world. The show is so well produced and every detail is carefully selected and placed so intelligently in the story that the particular show describes, that you simply can't believe how the hell authors come up with all this funny stuff.
When you stop for a moment and look behind the stories in the episodes, you can see that regardless of the story, all of the characters in the show could have their own show about them, and that show wouldn't lose any of the Simpsons potency.
I am a huuuuuge Mr. Burns fan and he's my favorite character, but Homer is of course the guy that' the foundation of the show. He's the guy that all people who work, grab a beer with friends and then come home to wife and kids, can relay to. He's a regular Joe everyone likes because he's ordinary and makes mistakes which are natural for everyone. Well maybe not all of them :)
I would recommend the show to everyone who want to take a peak at someone else's life, and during that time roll on the floor from laughter.

He's a Legend

I Am Legend is another of Will Smith's blockbusters, and when I say blockbuster I really mean a great movie, not just a huge budget, 5 star all memorabilia included. Not like I Robot which is when you think about it, a 90 minute or so television commercial with worlds most expensive products.
I Am Legend is a story about Lt. Robert Neville, and his struggle to reverse the effects of a terrifying virus that has whiped out most of humanity, and turned the surviving humans into "Dark seekers", mindless zombies who dwell in dark places because they're not immune to sunlight and who try to bite and kill everything that is not yet affected, and feed. Neville is somehow immune to the virus and for 3 years he's living alone in New York, which is the source of the plague, he's trying to find a cure. Animals are immune to the airborne virus so Neville's soul friend in the movie is a German shepherd - Samantha. Will Smith has once again proved that humor isn't his only acting feature, and that he truly is a versatile actor. The movie is exciting as hell so if You want to see a good action/disaster movie this year, I Am Legend should be very high on your list.

Star Trek Realm

I've seen all the Star Trek series, and Voyager is my favorite. The story involves a single Federation ship that's been stranded in the Delta quadrant of our galaxy, 70 000 light years from Earth. On the way home, Capt. Kathryn Janeway and her crew get into many adventures and trouble, just to see the "Blue marble" once again.
A large portion of the show that's been filmed in 7 seasons is about the conflict with a powerful alien race that's inhabiting the Delta quadrant - The Borg, but every episode is a story for itself.
The acting is superior to that in The Next Generation, and Deep Space Nine and more believeble than in Enterprise NX-01. Special effects are also great but what's separating Voyager from other series is the unique goal of getting home, rather than the pure excitement of exploration.
For all of you Star Trek nuts out there Voyager should be the jewel in the crown of Your space traveling adventure.

Live Free or Die Hard

A fourth movie about a NY cop John McClane who we all know from previous movies. First of all the movie is great. It really has it all. The situation about a criminal plot to take down the entire computer and technological structure that supports the economy of the United States is really taking it to the next level from previous movie situations John had to face.
But, there is always a but. The movie just hasn't got the feel like the first two movies, (the third is a different ballgame). Don't get me wrong. The story, directing, special effects and acting of one of my favorite actors Bruce Willis are amazing, but for me Die Hard (1988) is superior.
In the first movie you had John & the bad guys in a building. Who walks away - wins. Add John's humor and brain in a tough situation and you get an unforgettable action movie. With Live free or die hard happened what usually happens with sequels. They get watered down and don't beat the original. All in all - a cool 21. st century movie with amazing special effects and fine acting.

Funniest Space Guys

Remember these guys? Of course you do. This was also a great television show that's been unfortunately forgotten by many people. This is my little try to bring it back to the light of day.
RED DWARF is a sci-fi television show about 4 characters - Dave Lister (last surviving human in existence), Arnold Rimmer (a holographic representation of one of the crew), Cat (a humanoid life form that evolved from Dave's house cat), and Kryten (a humanoid robot) - who travel through space in a mining spaceship Red Dwarf after they've been woken from suspended animation that lasted millions of years. With the help of Holly - the on board artificial intelligence computer that has the IQ of 3000, the characters get in a bunch of funny adventures on their travel.
The show is absolutely one of a kind and just hilarious. Who wouldn't want to be stranded in space with these guys? I know I would. There are 8 seasons on dvd-s. I recommend the first 6.

Best Tv Show In The Galaxy

SEINFELD is without a doubt the most viewed and most talked about tv show of ALL TIME. Why is that? Well nobody knows for sure. Maybe its the characters. Maybe its the comedy itself, but what we all know for sure is that nobody who watches Seinfeld is left without a smile on his face.
The show is without a story. It depicts the every day life of four friends that putting it mildly - are not very "good." Jerry is petty and a "clean freak". George is a neurotic, stocky bold mad who isn't capable to keep a steady job. Elaine is the queen of the group. She's also petty, but with strong positions on certain political issues. She's usually the smartest of the group. Kramer is a ... Well nothing we can say comes close. He's just the greatest physical actor that ever appeared on television. His sound improvisations could make everybody laugh.
What's most important is that all the characters are equally consistent in all the crazy stuff they do. The writers were also brilliant, because the script by itself is just hilarious.
During the nine years of filming, we all just enjoyed having this crazy bunch enter our lives, and for 22 minutes a day make us forget all troubles of life and just have fun.
Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer left us in "whying??" suspense when the show ended in the famous Seinfeld finale, where they all end up in jail for braking the Good samaritan law, but we can all check the show again and again and again.
All of the seasons are out on DVD-s so if you want to remember the good all days with "The show about nothing" go buy them, rent them, burn them or whatever and have some laughs.

New Movie in Cinemas

MONGOL is a movie I've just seen yesterday. I'm a historian, so I was very interested in the story that this movie depicts. Needless to say I was disappointed in one way, and surprised in another. The story isn't historically accurate. I've found out that even Mongolian government denies it's authenticity and describes the movie as a hoax of great proportions.
But when you close your eyes on that fact, the movie is quite good. The landscape is beautiful, and the life of the population is very well depicted. Battle scenes correspond with the era of 12/13 century and the actors that are unknown to the wide audience are very believeble. The story envolves around the childhood and young years of Temudjin, a Mongol that will become a great conquerer known as Genghis Khan.
All in all, a movie worthy of watching and spending some time in the cinema or making popcorn for watching it from the sofa.

A Movie For All Time

I ll start with a movie that s been my favourite when I was a kid, and It still has it for me:
BACK TO THE FUTURE (1985) is a movie about a mad googly eyed scientist, Dr. Emmet Brown who constructs a time machine out of a road car, and his friend, a young boy Marty McFly who gets included in the adventure of time travel.
The movie has it all: excitement, thrill, humor, romance and above all - friendship. Movie is filmed in three sequels and they are all equally good.
Actors are absolutely brilliant. Michael J. Fox & Christopher Lloyd set the standards in action-comedy sci-fi movies even today.
So for those of you who feel young inside and haven't seen it yet - this is the movie for you, and you who have seen it - well you are probably watching it every year at least once.
Enjoy! :)
My rating: 12/5 :)
